Born in Liverpool England in 1953, Allan sailed to Canada in 1966 with his family. As a child art was always my passion. I never went anywhere without a pencil or a piece of charcoal and a bit of paper."
Allan was greatly influenced by his art teachers who focused on art appreciation, individual skill and working in variety of mediums.
This knowledge gave him a new way to look at the world around him. Learning to see art through the eyes of the artist gave me a greater appreciation for how artists have contributed and influenced society, in each of their own way artists capture a moment in time and reflect it."
His primary works are in Oil on canvas, and watercolours. He has been active in the arts community since 1977. His early showings were focused on the landscapes of southern Ontario, and his work could be recognized by the limited use of the palette, and the seasonal transition compositions.
Other works are more abstract and show influences of free form realism.
It is Allans current collection that best showcases his variety in both subject matter and familiarity with his medium.
All work is distributed by Fusion Art & Design.
